Basics
Tangela is a Grass-type Pokémon. Its 100% IV CP is 1,278 at level 20 (raids, eggs and research), 1,598 at weather-boosted level 25 and up to 2,530 at level 50. It is weak to Fire/Ice/Poison/Flying/Bug attacks (1.6×). It resists Water/Electric/Grass/Ground attacks. In raids, Vine Whip + Grass Knot is its strongest moveset (level 40, 100% IVs). It evolves into Tangrowth with 100 Candy and Sinnoh Stone. As your buddy, it earns 1 Candy every 3 km you walk together.

Tangela's vines snap off easily if they are grabbed. This happens without pain, allowing it to make a quick getaway. The lost vines are replaced by newly grown vines the very next day.

Related tips
- How to read IVs and appraisalsIVs run from 0 to 15 for each of Attack, Defense and HP, and appraisal stars are set by the sum of the three (0–45).
- What to power up first (power-up priorities for beginners)Stardust is limited, so first power up strong counters you'll use for a long time across many raids.
- Choosing IVs for PvP (low Attack wins in Great and Ultra League)In leagues with a CP cap, the lower the Attack IV, the higher you can level up within the same CP, which makes Defense and HP bigger.
