In 3 lines

  1. PokéStop Showcases are contests where you enter a Pokémon at a set PokéStop and compete on size. These days they're held every Tuesday.
  2. So far the ranking has always gone to the biggest Pokémon, so large ones like XXL have the edge.
  3. Entered Pokémon aren't locked, so you can still trade or evolve them. Everyone who enters gets a reward, and 1st–3rd place get better ones.

  • Unlike at Gyms and Power Spots, entered Pokémon aren't locked, so you can trade, transfer or evolve them. If you catch a bigger one, you can swap in another Pokémon that meets the same conditions, even from far away.
  • A Pokémon can only be in one Showcase at a time, and a Pokémon that won recently can't enter again for a while.
  • You can see your Pokémon's rank on the PokéStop's leaderboard.

Pokémon size

  • Size classes include XXS, XS, XL and XXL. XXS and XXL Pokémon look noticeably smaller or bigger when you encounter them and when they walk with you as your buddy.
  • Catch 3 or more of the same Pokémon and your Pokédex records the biggest, smallest, heaviest and lightest.
  • In a week with a Showcase, check the size of every featured Pokémon you catch and keep the big ones (XL and XXL) aside.

Checklist

  • Find a Showcase PokéStop near you on Tuesday
  • Enter the biggest one of the eligible Pokémon
  • Swap in a bigger one when you catch it
