Every way to evolve Eevee (nicknames, Lure Modules and buddy)

In 3 lines
- Eevee evolves into one of 8 Pokémon for 25 Candy, and you can choose the evolution you want by meeting its condition.
- Rename Eevee to a specific nickname before evolving and it becomes that evolution regardless of conditions, but each name works only once.
- Leafeon and Glaceon evolve near a Lure Module, Espeon and Umbreon by day or night after you walk 10 km as buddies, and Sylveon after you earn 70 buddy hearts.
Evolutions and conditions at a glance

| Espeon | Walk 10 km as your buddy, then evolve during the day while it's still your buddy | Sakura |
| Umbreon | Walk 10 km as your buddy, then evolve at night while it's still your buddy | Tamao |

All of them cost 25 Eevee Candy.
Nickname trick
- Rename the Eevee you want to evolve to the exact name in the table, then evolve it.
- The nickname takes priority over other conditions, but each name works only once per player. After that, the other conditions apply.
For evolutions whose nickname you've already used, evolve them with the conditions below.
Evolving with conditions
- Lure Modules: Tap the Evolve button near a PokéStop with an active Mossy or Glacial Lure Module. A Lure Module someone else placed works too, and the Lure Module condition takes priority over the buddy condition (Lure Module types).
- Espeon and Umbreon: Make Eevee your buddy and walk 10 km together, then evolve it during the day (Espeon) or at night (Umbreon) while it's still your buddy. Distance only counts while that Eevee is your buddy.
- Sylveon: Play with the Eevee you made your buddy, earn 70 hearts, then evolve it. Hearts also only count if you earned them while that Eevee was your buddy (Buddy Pokémon guide).
During events like Eevee Community Day, the buddy distance and heart requirements have been temporarily lowered before. Check the event announcement.
Which evolution first?
You can compare each evolution's recommended raid moves and weaknesses in the 'Overview' and 'Moves' tabs of its detail page, and its league rankings in the 'PvP' tab. Use the nickname trick first on the evolution that fits where you want to use it (raids or GO Battle League), and you'll make the most of each one-time chance.
Checklist
- Set aside high-IV Eevee (How to read IVs and appraisals)
- Get one of each of the 8 with the nickname trick

- How to earn and save StardustStardust goes into power-ups, second Charged Attacks and trades, so you'll always be short. Deciding where to spend it first is the biggest way to save.
- How to use Candy and Candy XLYou collect Candy by catching, transferring, walking with your buddy, trading and hatching, and from level 40 you power up with Candy XL.
- What to power up first (power-up priorities for beginners)Stardust is limited, so first power up strong counters you'll use for a long time across many raids.
- TMs and how to learn exclusive moves (Elite TMs and Community Day moves)Fast TMs and Charged TMs change a move at random, and they can't teach exclusive moves such as Community Day moves.
- How to raise your Trainer level fast (earning XP)The fastest way is to activate a Lucky Egg (2× XP for 30 minutes) and do your evolving, catching and raids all at once.
- Shadow Pokémon: when to purifyShadow Pokémon have 1.2× Attack but also take more damage, and they cost 1.2× Stardust and Candy to power up.
- Evolution items and the Pokémon that use themSome Pokémon need an evolution item on top of Candy to evolve. The Sinnoh Stone is used for 18 species and the Unova Stone for 7.
- Egg hatching guide (Eggs by distance and incubators)Eggs come in distances such as 2, 5, 7, 10 and 12 km. Put one in an incubator and walk that far, and a Pokémon hatches.
- Buddy Pokémon guide (Candy distance and Best Buddy)Walk with the Pokémon you set as your buddy and you get its Candy every set distance (1, 3, 5 or 20 km), which depends on the Pokémon.
