Getting startedLast checked 2026-10-31
In 3 lines
- Party Play lets up to 4 Trainers at level 20 or higher form a party and adventure together.
- The host creates a party from the 'Party' tab on the Trainer profile, and nearby friends join with a number code or QR code.
- In raids, you can build up Party Power to double the power of your next Charged Attack, and finishing a Party Challenge earns rewards.
Creating and joining a party
| Who | Steps |
|---|---|
| Host | Trainer profile → 'Party' tab → 'Create Party' → show the number code or QR code to nearby Trainers (up to 3) → 'Start' |
| Member | Trainer profile → 'Party' tab → 'Join Party' → scan the host's QR code or enter the number code → once the host starts, go back to the map and you're connected |
You can use it from Trainer level 20 (How to level up fast). Its English name is Party Play; the Korean version of the game calls it 'Team Play'.
Why play together
- Party Challenge: When you start Party Play, you pick a challenge such as spinning PokéStops, joining Raid Battles or catching Pokémon, and you get rewards when you finish it.
- Party Power (raids): The gauge fills each time you use a Fast Attack, and when it's full, your next Charged Attack does double damage. The more party members you have, the faster it fills.
- Activity summary: The 'Party' tab gathers what you did together (Pokémon, throws, adventures, battles, etc.).
Using it in raids
- Party members join the same raid.
- Keep using Fast Attacks to fill Party Power, and use it right before a Charged Attack. The stronger the Charged Attack, the more the double damage pays off.
- Playing with party members at a high friendship level also gives you the friendship attack bonus (Exchanging gifts with friends).
To decide which Pokémon to bring, check each boss's recommended counters on Raids.
Checklist
- Check that you're Trainer level 20
- Host taps 'Create Party' and shares the code
- In raids, use Party Power right before a Charged Attack
